In order to further protect privacy the App includes a "fuzzy location" setting that will shift the location in a random direction by no less than half a mile - and hence keep your true location hidden.
The application includes the option of updating (OR NOT) your location when the App is running in the background. To minimize battery usage and avoid continuous GPS updates the location is updated ONLY following very significant changes (usually above half a mile). None of our first 100 users have reported any problem concerning battery. However, if you do notice a strong battery usage, please notify us and switch off the "Update in background" option in the Settings. Also switch it off if you are traveling long distance in a very fast train.
Continuous use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
